Czechia’s Visa Application Center in Manila, Philippines, will resume processing Schengen visa applications next month.
Through a press release, the Czech Embassy in Manila noted that from June 1, 2024, citizens of the Philippines wanting to apply for a visa can arrange online slots on the VFS website to submit their applications, SchengenNews reports.
The applicants who fall in the so-called EU family category (for example, the wives of Czech nationals) are entitled to submit their applications directly to the Embassy. The reconstruction works are still ongoing at the premises of the Embassy.
Wives of Czech Citizens Can Submit Their Applications Directly to Czech Embassy in Manila
According to the Embassy, applicants who belong to the family category, such as wives of Czech citizens, have the right to submit their applications directly to the Embassy.
In this case, the Embassy warns applicants that it is necessary to organize one via email. It also pointed out that it is not yet known whether submitting Schengen visa applications to the Embassy will be possible.
Visa Applicants to Embassy of Czechia in Manila Must Pay a Fee of at Least €60
As of July 31, 2019, all visa applicants who want to appeal the decision of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Manila must pay a fee of €60. However, this changes every month depending on the exchange rate. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czechia will decide the complaint within 60 days.
Citizens of the Philippines and Nauru are subject to visa requirements for short-term (up to 90 days) and long-term (over 90 days) stays in Czechia.
Meanwhile, citizens of the Marshall Islands, the Federated States of Micronesia and the Republic of Palau do not need a visa to stay (up to 90 days) in the country if the purpose of the trip is not a gainful activity. As for the short-term visa applicants (up to 90 days) travelling to Czechia, they are required to submit their visa applications to the VFS Global Center.
EU family members can submit their short-term visa applications at VFS Global or directly at the Embassy of the Czech Republic after a previously scheduled and confirmed appointment. The visa fee is 0 EUR.
As the Embassy further explains, the application can be submitted up to six months before the trip. The processing time is 15 days (longer processing time is possible but exceptional). Therefore, the application should be submitted at least 15 days before travel. According to the same, an application submitted less than 15 days before the trip may not be considered in time.
